Aranja

somatic trauma therapist, psychedelic integration coach, death doula, kink coach, relationship counselor

Hi, I’m Aranja (she/they) and I help people who fall out of the norm deal with their challenges in ways that honor their uniqueness, eccentricity and complexity.

People who live outside of the norm can include people with different cultural backgrounds, people who are diverse in terms of gender and sexuality, people who live in non-conventional relationship constellations, kinksters, people who are critical thinkers, activists, artists, dreamers…or the “weird one” in their family.

Whether you’re dealing with an existential crisis or your favourite cactus just died, all of your struggles are welcome.

I know sometimes we hesitate to reach out for professional support because we’re not sure if the problem is “serious” enough. Yet often the niggling, less urgent issues in our lives are symptoms of the larger ones. They too can help us uncover the heart of the matter, sooner rather than later.

How I work:

I’m a certified systemic counselor, which means that we look at your situation not only in the context of your individual path in life, but also in terms of the interplay with the people and systems around you. For people impacted by an unjust system, this is so important. Unlike mainstream coaches, I don’t believe it’s just “your mindset”. This is also why I use a mix of cognitive, emotional and somatic (i.e. body-based) techniques.

In addition, I am a kink coach. I help you create and navigate your kinky life and relationships in a way that feels right for you. I am also a trained death doula, supporting people at the end of life. Additionally, I volunteer in safer nightlife and help people reflect their substance use and integrate psychedelic experiences. As a trauma therapist I help you identify where old trauma is impacting you in your current life and support your body in integrating it.

My approach is one of balance, of finding ways to be in the world in a way that feels joyful and true to ourselves, all while navigating the inevitable BS that comes with being a human in this time.

I am lucky enough to have had access to formal qualifications, but I still believe that what has taught me the most is my own process – which is ongoing. We don’t all deal with the same things, but we all have a journey.
