GEMMA RIOS BIO TRADUCTION

Gemma Lucía Rizzo was born in Morón, province of Buenos Aires. She lived and grew up in Barrio Luna, Hurlingham. She channeled her deep pains through the arts. Above her house she created and still exists La Batato, a self-managed theater hall in memory of the clown-transvestite-literary Batato Barea. She has worked as a theater teacher and currently conducts comprehensive sexual education workshops, in addition to the self-management of her cultural projects. She is part of the theater company Las Quemando and the duo Carmelitas Clown. Today she is living in Traslasierra, province of Córdoba. She has published Andrógina (Sudestada, 2021), La lluvia llega a todos lugares (Elemento Disruptivo, 2022) and El veneno de estas guachitas (Mutanta, 2020 – Sudestada, 2023).

HECATE BIO TRADUCTION

Hécate Criado Salmoral was born and raised in the municipality of Blanes, in the province of Girona. From a young age she showed interest and aptitude for the arts, especially the performing arts, attending drama classes and being part of the theatre group in her municipality. When she came of age, she entered a theatre studies centre in Girona and then began studying contemporary dance in Barcelona. At the beginning of her transition, she decided to move to Berlin to continue training in contemporary dance, but after several attempts, the rejection and trans-exclusionary discomfort in institutions led her to take a self-taught path in self-management. In 2021 she published her first EP of urban/experimental music entitled Soteira, in which she addressed themes of transvestism, love and revenge. Her experiences as a transvestite-trans woman, her conflicts and her travels shaped her writing and her projects to the point where she is now.
