Born in the city of Salta\, Argentina\, on June 14th of 1955\, she lived 50 years\, until February 5\, 2016) \nWhether you feel like socialising or just having a moment to chill by yourself at the end of the day\, all is valid and welcome. There will be tea and some snacks but feel free to bring something whether it’s home baked goods\, your favourite tea\, snacks\, or of course only yourself. We’ll have also group activities for those who are interested in joining. \nThis time is more of a casual hangouts with some proposals for communal activities\, it is not a time for walk-in counselling. However close or distant these relationships might be\, however supportive\, conflict-ridden or complicated\, it can feel loaded and tricky to discuss gender. Whether wanting to write a letter to send off\, working through your own thought process\, or purging feelings that you haven’t or don’t have opportunities to express in person\, you’ll have a chance to open up the dialogue in a supportive environment that centres your own experiences\, needs and well-being. This two and a half-hour workshop\, involves discussion and reflection\, as well as writing your own personal letters. \n* Facilitated in English\, with possibilities for whisper translation with advance notice.\n** Open to all trans*\, inter\, non-binary\, gender-non-conforming people \nfacilitated by Zee:\nZee (they/he) is a trans person of colour who does a bunch of different things\, including translation\, curation\, and sex education. Born in the city of Salta\, Argentina\, on June 14th of 1955\, she lived 50 years\, until February 5\, 2016) \nWhether you feel like socialising or just having a moment to chill by yourself at the end of the day\, all is valid and welcome. There will be tea and some snacks but feel free to bring something whether it’s home baked goods\, your favourite tea\, snacks\, or of course only yourself. We’ll have also group activities for those who are interested in joining. \nThis time is more of a casual hangouts with some proposals for communal activities\, it is not a time for walk-in counselling. DESCRIPTION:*For queer Black\, Indigenous\, People of Color and white Trans\, Inter and Nonbinary Folks. \nEN: The NADA protocol is the standardized acupuncture of 5 ear points in a special setting that has proven to be an effective treatment for people suffering from stress\, trauma\, or a wide variety of mental health conditions.NADA involves the gentle placement of up to five small\, sterilized\, disposable needles at specific points on each ear. Recipients* sit quietly in a group setting for 30-45 minutes and allow the treatment to take effect.\nNADA was developed in New York’s South Bronx in the 1970s by members of the Black Panther Party and Young Lords to address addiction in the Black and Puerto Rican communities.\nTreatment under the NADA protocol helps people to\nwant to better cope with daily stresses\nsuffer from stress and burnout symptoms\nneed to cope with traumatic experiences\nsuffer from restlessness and sleep disorders\nwant to cope better with pain\nwho are addicted or have problems with alcohol and or drugs\nwho are mentally ill\nhave problems with hyperactivity or eating disorders\nwant to stop smoking.\nThere are no known medical contraindications. Lab is a monthly collective research space in Casa Kuà for people who identifies as trans* and have bodily experiences with gender-affirming treatment (medical or surgical; DIY or conventional; past or present).\nCollective research means that we explore and learn together; we are all free to ask and answer\, embodying both cluelessness and expertise in our shared research process. Together we’ll explore our experiences with gender-affirming treatment as a non-linear process.\nWe might work with (side-)effects\, (un)expected changes\, and community knowledge. Research topics and questions emerge from the group.\nThe group is open\, so it’s possible to join when you want. We aim to document our collective findings in a anonymized community-led open-source online research archive\, for us and by us. DESCRIPTION:Registration required (to sdf.javdani@gmail.com): \nOur bodies carry the imprints of systemic structures that have historically shaped and controlled our lives. These structures are not just external; they are embodied\, shaping how we move\, feel\, and relate to ourselves\, others and the world. Through our somatic experience\, we can recognize how these forces live within us and find ways to reclaim our agency within the broader journey towards social justice and healing. In this circle\, participants are invited to explore their relationships with their bodies and play around with new ways of being in their body that prioritize care and connection. It offers them tools and practices for active breathing and somatic opening\, while offering each other presence or touch. Clear communication\, consent\, and the mindful acknowledgment of boundaries are central to this practice. Attending the circle can be a recurring practice of showing up for ourselves and creating intentional space for connection and communal care. \nAbout the facilitator:\nSadaf Javdani (they) is a somatic explorer and facilitator\, with several years of experience in social work\, counselling\, and community organising as well as writing on social justice. Having been involved in QTI*BIPoC activist communities\, they are committed to integrate learnings developed through trauma-informed activism\, transformative justice\, and politicized somatics to create a facilitation style that is radically bold and fiercely soft. Inspired by the teachings of decolonial somatics\, their work centers on creating spaces to reconnect with our bodies\, with each other\, and with the possibility of transforming the way we hold ourselves and relate to the world. \nCasa-Kua is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
