Doula, birth companion, fascia practitioner
The seed of my practice takes root at the crossroads of birth, life and death. As a birth companion, it is my intention to cultivate the space for you to tune into the intelligence of the body, allowing you to access your internal guide that will move you through the realm of birth. In my offering of sound medicine, perceptive fascia touch, meditation and co-created rituals within Earth-based practices, my duty is to guide you in ways that strengthens your mind-body and spirit connection, encouraging your embodied understanding of what it means to be in full trust of your birthing processes.
I am dedicated to providing intuitive, full-spectrum care for Black, brown, queer, trans and gender fluid families, honouring the unique sovereignty of each person’s transition into
parenthood. I regard all layers of life transitions as worthy of presence and gentleness, so my practice extends towards offering companionship through grief, loss and other thresholds
of change.
Perceptive Fascia Touch
Fascia is a web of connective tissue that runs throughout the entire body. You can think of it like a soft, flexible fabric that wraps around and connects everything inside you including
muscles, organs, bones and nerves. Fascia plays an important role in how we move, how we feel and how experiences and emotions are held in the body.
When fascia becomes tense or restricted (often through stress, injury or overwhelming experiences) it can affect our sense of comfort and ease. My practice uses a perceptive, attentive touch that listens to the body rather than directing it. By offering this kind of contact the tissues are supported to settle and self regulate in their own time. When the body feels met and acknowledged in this way it often softens and finds balance naturally.
